We're excited to announce that our founder and CEO, Helen Kontozopoulos, will be joining an distinguished panel at Collision 2024 to discuss Toronto's emergence as a global AI powerhouse. The panel, hosted by Toronto Global, brings together key voices in Toronto's AI ecosystem to explore what makes our city a world-leading hub for artificial intelligence innovation.

Helen brings a unique perspective to this conversation, having worn multiple hats in Toronto's AI landscape. As an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto's Department of Computer Science since 2014, she has helped shape the next generation of AI innovators. Her courses serve as a startup sandbox where students learn to integrate AI and emerging technologies into market-ready products. This teaching environment has already spawned ventures like Ross Intelligence and BlueJ Legal.

Helen's insights don't just come from the classroom. Her entrepreneurial journey with ODAIA, where she grew the AI-powered healthcare analytics company to 100 employees and Series B funding, demonstrates the real-world potential of Toronto's AI ecosystem. Now, with Resiin, she's once again at the forefront of AI innovation, developing intelligent solutions for professional relationship management.

Helen will share the stage with an impressive group of AI leaders:

  • Daniel Mulet, VP/Principal at Radical Ventures, bringing deep expertise in AI investment and scaling

  • Patricia Thaine, Co-Founder and CEO of Private AI, offering insights on privacy-preserving AI technology

  • Stephen Lund, CEO of Toronto Global, moderating this powerful discussion

Together, they'll explore what makes Toronto unique in the global AI landscape and discuss how our city continues to foster innovation, attract talent, and build successful AI companies.

As someone who has built successful AI ventures, taught countless students, and now invests in promising AI startups, Helen will bring practical insights on what it takes to succeed in Toronto's AI ecosystem. She'll share her perspective on how the city's unique combination of academic excellence, entrepreneurial spirit, and supportive ecosystem creates the perfect environment for AI innovation.
